There are not many places where you can toss a mullet across the state line, listen to some great steel drum bands, eat tons of crawfish, or participate in the world’s largest electric slide — especially in ten days’ time. The Pensacola Bay Area could be nicknamed the City of Festivals, since there are lively (and sometimes wacky) events nearly every weekend. Mark your calendar and bring the kids to our upcoming special events.
Goombay Gulf Coast brings an island vibe to Downtown Pensacola with the Original Wailers of Bob Marley, steel bands, calypso music, island cuisine and plenty of family fun. Plus, participants can attempt to get in the Guinness Book of World Records by participating in the world’s largest electric slide in the Belmont-Devilliers neighborhood. Free admission.
Saturday, April 25: 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Sunday, April 26: noon to 5 p.m.

Stay the week and then experience one of Florida’s largest crawfish boils. Pensacola will be hosting its 25th annual Crawfish Festival at the waterfront Bartram Park in Downtown Pensacola May 1-3. Enjoy Cajun-style cuisine with succulent crawfish dishes such as crawfish poboys, crawfish pies and boiled crawfish. There will also be good old-fashioned hamburgers and hotdogs, along with other Pensacola favorites. With crafts and other activities for the kids and live entertainment, such as the NASCRAW crawfish races and the annual crawfish eating contest, you won’t want to miss out on this fun weekend. Admission is $5 for adults and free for children 12 and under. Weekend passes are available for $10.
